Was she wrong or me..?? really does not matter..!!

It's about yesterday. We had just stepped out of the mall after watching a pathetic movie. Already, we were quiet disappointed and more of irritated with the movie..may be that's why it all happened..

We came out and were trying to find a way back to home..and to be frank..I am not good at remembering addresses, roads and landmarks..So is the case with my friend who was there with me..I can proudly say I am atleast better than her.. ;)

We asked a guy who was selling tender coconut on roads..he directed us to one of the roads..from where I could relate a little, and we almost reached the road from where we could get a Volvo bus or some auto..But thereon I was a little confused about which road to take further..

There were two ladies on the road..one on a two wheeler and the other one..standing on the road..they were busy gossipping so much..that I would have said "excuse me' for some 5-6 times but none of them bothered to reply back..They behaved as if they could not hear me, were dump or if I did not exist at all..they only knew what they thought of...

I was very irritated by this and I just moved on blabbering.."If they did not want to help/reply they could have said, what's the reason of ignoring like this..non sense people..blah..blah.." .. I think I was quiet audible to them.. :)

We would have moved only a 50 meters of distance..when the other lady on the vehicle came to us and said ..you people were saying something..Tell me how can I help you..I was seriously in no mood to ask anything to them by then..

My friend asked and she directed us to the same way, we were moving on..

I mean in this whole drama, whether I was wrong or she..I don't really know..feel as if both were 50% wrong and 50% right..but definitely I felt a little embarrased about what I  said in anger for them.. :)

Unforgettable Industrial Tour

Hmm..Where should I start with?

I was in 6th semester..about 15 days before the examination..we all were sitting down, studying , keeping our fingers crossed. All of us had in our mind, in one corner or the other, the hope, that examinations were really gonna be postponed..We were studying, but had this question in mind, every moment, are exams seriously going to be postponed or it's just a rumour..Suddenly, at the end of the day, while coming back from colleage campus to hostel, we heard a few people talking about this..something related to semester exams, we wanted to know what it was..

We went to a bunch of classmates to find out, this is when we came to know that the exams were postponed and we were all supposed to go for a mandatory industrial trip before the exams..Ahhaaa...where many of us were happy about the news, others were pretty excited about the industrial trip..Me and my friends had doubt, if our college and faculty are cool enough to take us for a trip..Since the classes were already over, with no dates yet declared for the final exams, many of us went to their homes..until the news come either for the trip or the exams..

Then one day, we were told about the trip, that we are all going to Shimla and Chandigarh for an industrial trip..I had a doubt, as many others, that the exams will be scheduled right in the next week the trip gets over, so wanted to avoid the trip and get indulged in studies to score some good marks..

Everyone else was packing the bags to go..and they were all very excited..

Few of my friends asked me a lot to join ..but I denied mentioning about the examination..My roommate came, with bags almost packed to go..she asked me to come too..I said "No, I don't want to", she asked me a few more times..I indeed was a lil sad, as most of my friends were going and will have lots of fun, which I was going to miss & study like a nerd.. She asked me a few more times..enough..even I wanted to go then..but I kept saying, I can't go, have to study.. But she managed to convince me somehow..We went to take permission from HOD, won't believe it, an hour before the time of departure.. My other friends joined too.. I had convinced my HOD for skipping the trip, saying that I wasn't well to go..So he said "You better don't go as you are ill." But now I wanted to ..My roommate asked a few more times, when I had already lost hope..that he will allow..Few other friends came and asked him to allow me to join..He kept saying "No".. Then finally, he told me to get consent from my parents.."Oh god, my parents had gone to attend a wedding, doubt, if they would pick my phone up"..I tried some 5-7 times, when they finally picked up my phone..some students from computer science branch had come to ask for something..Now they were asking if I am going too..I just smiled, saying nothing..Finally had to write a letter and give it to HOD, saying that I was all well to go..But then..

I did not have enough money to deposit for the trip fee..Even had no time to withdraw and deposit the money from some ATM..One of my friends deposited that for me..Now, even I was going, I could not believe that, but was a little happy about the fact..I had only 25 minutes left to finish all the packing and come to the bus. God only knows how I finished doing all the packing in just 10-15 mins, because going back from campus to the hostel itself killed around 15 minutes, since every one was asking how could my friends convince the obstinate soul to join the trip ..I still remember that..and when I came out with my bag..all my classmates & friends were a little surprised and very happy about it..as we all can have lots and lots.. and lots..of fun..together..now :)

I would really like to mention..that we really had loads of fun..

Unsuccessful House Expedition :( :(

This is not the first time when I went to look for an apartment/flat in Bangalore, never ending journey, believe me.. :'(
The journey began from the day I stepped into Bangalore, it seems changing your place to stay, every other month is kind of custom here in Bangalore..To give you an example.. this is the third place within a year I have moved to...How much so ever I may try, I will end up finding a huge number of issues with very place, my bad luck may be..But so is the case with all other friends of mine..atleast with most of them ..
One of my friends has recently moved to Bangalore, so we came up with the nice thought of finding a flat and staying together. But, I just forgot how difficult it is to find a good place in Bangalore to stay. So this Sunday, we thought of starting the "house hunt".
We decided upon to meet at a place and then started looking for a good house. We contacted so many brokers, 'x' number of people through 'n' number of advertisements on internet, some random phone numbers put on display around the pavement, we even went to some shops and asked them if they know any brokers/vacant houses. We tried almost everything, wasted around a week to surf internet and contact people. We even wasted one complete day, roaming around to get just an apartment.
We were so tired that we were hardly able to walk, even after putting into so much of effort, we found nothing..
Now you will think what's the issue was..it's just a matter of a house and not some Kohinoor Ka Khazaana/ Lost Treasure of Barmuda Triangle :)
First of all, the area, we want to stay in, there are hardly any vacant houses there..Those which get vacated, would be occupied before the previous tenant leaves it..and before the good news come out..some places won't be good enough to stay..some will be in a lonely sad, isolated area..some with a very high price tag..
Conclusion......
We could not get any nice place to stay..but the hunt is still on..hope our journey ends soon.. Just wish us a very best of luck, thank you ..  :)

Music is the Food for the Soul..!!

In today's fast pace life, if someone really wants to shed off some tension and feel relaxed, then I, like lots of other people, believe that "Music" is not only an instrument for entertainment but also a medicine to the scars and wounds that we are gifted everyday by one or the other things going around in our lives.

Especially if you tune yourself to some soothing soft music everyday in the morning, then its no less than a meditation to keep yourself fresh and calm for the rest of the day. Try and notice people who are listening to some song or some really really good music, most of them would either start tapping their fingers/hands/feet or would start singing/humming, enjoying it, forgetting all their worries and pains for that duration atleast.

I have noticed this so many times and with so many people.

My roommate used to sing while studying.

The person who sits next to me in office, actually starts singing suddenly when he listens to some song using headphones/earphones or sometimes just like that :)

Most of the people sing while they are standing in a queue..etc..etc..

The reason why I have put all these examples here, is to highlight the fact that, music is a boon in this modern, technical and practical world and makes routine work enjoyable...

Try it..feel it ;)

There is much to do..beyond your Job..!!

I know a workaholic like me, should be the last person in the world to give others a lecture about doing something in life for themselves, that can bring true happiness and satisfaction to them. But believe me, you know more when you yourself have been through something..

During the past few months, I was working like an insane it seems, I mean continuously working for 14 to 16 hours a day is no less than madness..like I had forgotten that I too have a life of my own..Job is a just a part of my life and not the only thing left in my life..

I tried to work harder every day to prove myself but now I have understood one thing, you just don't need to prove anything to anyone, time will tell everything..I overlooked my health, did not watch even a single movie over the past two months, had stopped listening to music...blah..blah..blah..

The person who was a movie freak once, used to watch 4-5 movies back to back, used to listen to music all round the day..if have stopped doing all these..was a sign that there is something wrong with the way I had been living those days..I was a little frustrated and bored of my routine of going to office, working like a nerd, used to forget to have water till I was in office..I mean.."Get a life dude, seriously, I mean it." I fell ill often and still do, but then this weekend I had a break of 5 days, when I got time to think about me, my life and the way I can stay happy..All thanks to "Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara", pathetic movie..but the only good thing about the movie is it makes you realize the value of this second, this moment and to enjoy it to its fullest.

Working hard to make your future secure, ruining your present will do no good to you, because how do you know that you will live that much to enjoy with what you have saved for your old age..

So I have started living my life again, the way I used to and will continue to do so..atleast I hope so...

I never knew that Facebook is so important

And that's when I realized Facebook exists

For some things that we do, we don't even think of before doing..And that's how we create trouble for ourselves..
I did the same mistake..hey am a human being too..

It's a page turned over from my college saga, my college's last semester to be precise. Facebook did not exist to me till that time. I just had a profile, that's because some or the other friend had sent an invitation. But I never bothered to use it. As many other invitations, I had got a request from some community, I did not even bother to read the name. I used to accept almost all the invitations, because I never used facebook, so for me it was just a click, which never mattered.

There was a common HOD for computer science and information technology. Even though we were hostel mates and friends, whenever it was I.T. v/s computer science, we used to defend out branch and classmates like kids.

After a month or two, three of us, as like any other usual day, were sitting down in the college lawn, after dinner. Few more of our friends joined. That's when we came to know that there was a rumour all over the campus that a few computer science students have been called by the Head Of the Department. There was a curiosity for sure since we were from I.T., so anything related to our HOD, computer science or I.T. was important. :)
One of them mentioned that some random community was created a few months ago, all those who are involved or are members are being called. I did not bother because I thought I was safe because I never used facebook. But I was wrong, I came to know the very next morning. After computer science, few of us(I.T. students) were called, felt as if we were summonned by the court of law.

As soon as we reached there, the HOD told me that it wasn't expected from students like you. He asked us "You must be aware why you have been called". Many of us said yes, but I guess so but I was not sure. He told a few things like the community...members..I tried to join the links...and that's when I realized one of those clicks have screwed my life. He asked me to come back next year for last semester, those words.. I felt as if something has drilled my head. I tried to expain but he was not interested. I mentioned that may be I have joined by mistake, because I never cared for facebook and its invitations, but everything seemed to be meaningless to him. Then he says this way you will join some terrorist group/event invitation some other day, a question, for which I had no answer at all. We were asked to come again the following day.

Next day..
Our cell phones were confiscated as soon as we entered the room. Three of the faculty members including HOD were sitting down like Supreme Court judges..They blasted so much on us..Then started checking our messages, pictures, call log and all. I had no idea what was going on. Suddenly they asked two of us to call their parents and ask them to come there as soon as possible, we had no clue what was going to happen. One of the parents, one classmate's father came and then happened something which I had not expected by any chance.

They declared that two of our classmates, manipulate Santa Banta jokes with the HOD's and one of the faculty member's name, forward it to everyone. They have created an anti HOD community and all. His father was very angry and he slapped him very hard in front of everyone for quiet a lot of times. All of us felt very bad. But we could do nothing. We were told so many things, I was never scolded so much in my entire student life. Those two days were like something ...unexplainable....

One of the memories..which was not at all good.. a page that I would like to tear off ..

Black Magic or No Magic..I always wonder..!!

I have had conversations with so many people around. Many of them claim to have experience of traces of magic- white or black, I really don't know..

One of the good things about this topic is once you kick start it, every one will have some or the other story to share with, that may scare you, fantasize you, amuse you or sometimes even make you think, "is it really possible? "

Even I have one personal experience, God only knows if it was a prank or ..??

As far as I remember, the incident happened somewhere a day or two before the University Examination, when I was in college- III semester.. I was a hostler and had a roommate too.The room was designed so that every part of the room was visible from every other part. I had this weird habit of getting up early in the morning at around 4 am and study. The place was situated in western part of India where sun rises only after  6 am in winters.

As usual it was 4 am and my alarm rang. I stopped the alarm, was only half awake and was trying a lot to convince myself to come in full senses, get up and study. To switch on the lights while lying down, I just had to make a little effort as the switch board was almost reachable from the bed. As soon as this thought of switching on lights clicked my mind and I made a move towards it, I noticed something at the doorstep. Lots of water right from the doorstep towards the bed. I thought may be I am still half asleep that's why I saw something like this. Because to rain in this part of the country, that too in winters was almost like something that happens only in dreams. I rubbed my eyes to get a clear view of what I had noticed a few seconds back.

I was a lil surprised, don't know for what reason, I made my roommate to wake up too. She woke up and even she gave a surprised look. I asked her if it rained last night,(she usually used to study till 1 or 2 am ). She said "No", and this  "No" hit our head quiet hard. We thought it was somebody's prank to throw water at our doorstep. But before we could come to a conclusion my roommate noticed something which I had not noticed so far.

She told me that something is floating on the top of water. Even I noticed that, after she had mentioned. I switched on the light to discover there was red colored water all over the floor and egg white like thing was floating on the top of it. We were surprised, shocked and angry too. First time in life I had seen something like that. When we went towards the gate, we could see many more things like oil, sesame seeds and so on.  We felt really disgusting and were more worried about getting it all cleaned that too a few days before the examination. Huh..pretty painful...the thought only was..

My roommate asked me not to, but I managed to open the door, after our long discussion to figure out what it could be, we did not even notice that it was almost 6:00 am by that time. After I opened the door, I saw some yuk things lying outside the door. It was some newspaper, rotten papaya, oil, some red colored water sprinkled over and dried by that time. That was too much for us. We went and made a complaint to the warden. By the time we came back, it had already turned into a museum. Everyone came to our floor just to have a look of it. It became more of a refreshment before the examination and helped us get relieved from studies for a while.

Still wonder what it was, but was really a different experience which I could not jot down fully on some blog or paper..

Mean Paying Guest/Hostel Owner

I have never seen such a person in my 22 years of life. How can somebody be so mean? How can somebody even get a sound sleep at night after doing something really bad to someone? Such people can never stay happy in their life..

This is about my landlady/ Paying Guest owner, who is shamelessly mean and cheap. There is a gal, who stayed in a room opposite to mine. This gal, (I know her personally) she is a happy go lucky kinda friendly and cheerful person & a Yoga trainer by profession.

We have this rule to give an intimation around a month before you leave the PG. The gal did the same. She told her(landlady) that she will vacate at the end of the month(July) but at the same time she told landlady that she may need an extension, if she does not find a proper place to stay. The owner agreed happily. This gal could find a good place to move, but the only problem was that she could shift only after 5th of August. She went on around 22nd of July to the owner and asked her if it is ok if she continues till 5th August as her new place will be available only on the eve of 5th August. So she can move by 6th August. The owner agreed because until then she could not find a replacement for her room. But she asked her to pay the rent for 10 days, the gal agreed.

Suddenly the owner came on 29th July and asked the gal to vacate by 31st July morning. The gal was surprised, rather shocked. She could not understand how can she(the owner) ask her just like that to vacate when she had agreed to accomodate her till 5th August and moreover she had already paid rent for an extension of 10 days till 10th August. She put this question forward. The landlady started shouting and told she knows how to throw people out of her place. The gal got angry and said that you can’t just throw somebody out like this. This is not done. They had an argument for around an hour with no conclusion, the owner went back blabbering that she knows how to run the business and she will make sure that she vacates by 31st.

Later we came to know that the owner gave confirmation to a new tenant to stay from 1st August. This is really disgusting. How can she let a new gal come and stay when she has given a commitment till 10th August to someone else. Money makes some people even loose their dignity, now I have seen an example.

The gal was very tensed as she did not want any controversy but she had no other option, as her new place would be available only after 5th. The gal went for a picnic on Saturday 30th July and came back on 1st of August. When she was not there the landlady tried to break into her room but she did not have the key. She tried to use all the other keys she had with her, around 100s but she did not succeed. Finally she went back.

The gal came back on Sunday at around 11:30 pm at night. Next morning, as it was a weekday, we all went to office except one gal who has quit her job and preparing for some examination and this gal who is supposed to vacate and then happened which I have heard of before only in movies..

At around 12 pm, the landlady came and locked her inside the room silently so that she could not know. At around 1 pm she got up and tried to come outside the room. She was amazed, she was trying hard, but she could not open the door. She(victim) knocked the door from inside but since there was no one else in the nearby rooms, nobody came to her rescue. The she called up the gal in one far away room and asked her to open the room. The gal from the other room came and found that it was just latched and no lock was put, luckily. She opened the door. The victim took a sigh of relief and thanked her for opening the door. The other gal went back inside her room. The victim was about to cross the main gate and go downsairs, as our PG is on 2nd floor, it was then when she realized that 5 tall, dark and obese men are standing on her way. She got thunderstruck, she could not understand what’s going on.

These 5 men included 3 relatives of the landlady along with her husband and son, who were no less than Gundas in appearance. As soon as she could realize what’s happening, they started abusing her. She felt a little helpless as she there was no one else along with her but she also shouted and tried to give them back with great courage, locked her room and managed to come out somehow.

When she reached the ground floor, what she found was..her scooty was tied with a strong chain and a lock was put on it. She tried to unchain the scooty and even after a continuos 15 minutes effort she did not succeed. Then the landlady’s son came and started fighting with her and asked her to get out of his PG.

The gal told that she had full right to stay as she had paid the rent for these 10 days and the owner had agreed for this too. There was a serious argument and she continued trying to unchain the vehicle, and luckily she could. The victim, I will say is a strong strong gal, She went to the nearby Police Station and lodged a complaint agianst the landlady. She told them she had a threat of her life there in the PG. So one lady constable was sent with her so that she could take out her stuff from the room.

She came back with the constable and found that these people were standing on the main gate so that she could not enter and take her lugguage. When they saw the constable, they atleast let her in. The victim felt a little broken but she managed to pack all her things. While she was doing that she found out from the lady constable that the owner had given some bribe to the Policemen in that police station as the PG is not a registered PG and hence illegal.

The constable asked her to take the complaint back saying that you only will be troubled if you don’t do so. How disgusting and convenient it was for her.!!. We are staying in a country where the people who are supposed to safeguard us and the country, sell themseleves for a little bribe with no shame. Since she was alone in the city, she was forced to take the complaint back.

But still I would say that this gal has really set an example for others. We should always fight against what is wrong and that’s what she did. I am happy that today I have a friend like her..  :)

The Volvo Experience

It was 17th August 2011, 8:45 am in the morning when I took the volvo KA01 FA-1677. The conductor had a badge  with D/O B No  5569 in Bangalore, Karnataka from HSR Layout to reach my office.

The conductor was way too rude, he does not have any sense how to deal with the people travelling through that Volvo and the driver was no less.

He treated the passengers like cattle, extremely rude he was with no sense to conduct with the female passengers. He behaved as if he owns the Volvo and is doing some favour on us by letting us travel through it.

There was no place to even stand in the Volvo but he was forcing us to go back and was shouting ridiculously on us to go inside. He also let many more people to get into the Volvo even when there was no space inside to accommodate more people. The people were standing right at the doorstep(entrance). It could have caused a mishap, even with a small mistake from the driver’s end, while opening and closing the door.
Also since we were standing right at doorstep we could feel the force laid by the automatic doors whenever it was closed.

I believe humans should be treated like humans and not furniture and also the Volvo employees should have little decency to talk politely and like humans.

The "Anna March"

Anna Hazaare is the name, which does not need an introduction today. He has started a spirit of revolution against corruption in the country. But every time I think about the way, people in India have adopted to fight against this corruption, there is one question that hits my mind hard.

Do the citizens of this nation really need to do what they are doing right now?
Will standing on the roads, causing jams, making human chains from east to west/ north to south of the city will really help?
Will just wanting to stay in a corruption free environment without doing anything concrete about it is the solution?

Many of us won’t agree, even many of my friends do not agree to what I say. But don’t we really need to re-assess the current situation and worth of the ongoing protest in the country. I personally feel that the untapped energy in youths is really being wasted over certain things, which is not going to make things better. One of the examples is these rallies or the “Anna March”, some manipulated version of Dandi March. The only difference being people have come out on roads with the so called reason of standing against the Govt. of India, but have they ever thought about the consequences. Most of them don’t even know why are they a part of the rally, most of the youths take it as an outing with friends and say..Chal na yaar, we will have fun, aur attendance bhi to mil raha hai”. They are doing the rallies, but I don’t think they even feel the cause about which they are claiming to do all this. Second consequence, the traffic becomes still for certain hours, what if someone needs a quick medical aid and should be taken to hospital urgently. He/ She will die in between, on roads, won’t even reach hospital and get a chance to fight against death. Is it anyway fair to them?

People want a change in the current democratic set up of the nation, by simply relying on the Jan Lokpal bill, is this attitude fair enough? How many of us can take a guarantee that they have never let corruption flourish. I have a number of examples which people may consider as a must to do thing but have made corruption grow in one or the other way.

Most people would have used a cab/auto/taxi some or the other day, would have paid a fixed price, may be even double/triple of what the fair should ideally be. When we have clear norms of hiring an auto and paying on the basis of meter reading, why do we pay 50 bugs for going to the nearby market, which is not even a km or 2 away? Are not we strengthening the intentions of the auto driver to ask for 60 bugs from the next passenger?

Many people pay lacs of Rs as donation to some university/ college or even to schools now-a-days to get their children admitted.

People will pay more than MRP in super/hyper markets for many things quiet often, that too knowingly. They won’t even question this, because they think of their image, what other people will think if I ask for Re 1, which is charged extra. It does not go with my standards to ask for a penny.

People will throw garbage on the roads, spit on walls etc. and ask for cleanliness.

They will bribe just to get a BSNL sim card, electricity, water/ gas cylinder  connection, sometimes even for birth/marriage/death cretificate/ passport clearance and so on. So when we ourselves are not clean how can we ask others to be? Stop giving these bribes, supporting such acts, if no-one will, whom will they ask for bribes?  And not to forget one thing, those who take bribes are also a part of some or the other family, go correct your family members atleast, that will help and not these rallies.

It’s we, the citizens of any nation, who can actually bring a change by a deep sense of commitment and concrete attitude, by constantly working towards it and not some Jan Lok Pal bill.  If you can’t take a guarantee of yourself and your family of being corruption free, how can you even depend on the people who have framed or will be the part of the committee under this bill later?

What we need now is to assess the pain points, to remember our duties first and also contribute towards fulfilling it, because if you forget your Duties, you have no right at all, to claim your Rights..!!
