My collection of stickers .. :'(

Mom asked me and my brother to give away all the stickers, paint brushes, colors, erasers of different sizes, shapes and colors to the maid's kids .. Me and my brother were crazy about stickers when kids, had everything from Aladdin, Garfield, Dennis da Menace, Scooby Doo, Ninja Turtles, Teddy Bears...simple and the ones that glow in dark, the one with radium which used to fantasize us like anything.. Both of us loved drawing, sketching and painting, we still do, but have hardly got any time to spare for it now..

When mom asked us to give them away, we were busy talking about something, so we nodded and said 'ok' ..simply..but while separating them out from the box, I felt as if the whole Tornedo of childhood blew a cool breeze which made me feel very possessive about them, but then...I thought..we loved it when we were kids..so it may bring a spirit of happiness in those kids' life as well, anyways we were not going to use it ever, and would also not be able to look at them everyday..But those small petty things are inevitable parts of our childhood..  :(
I just hope that those kids will respect the things, which were taken care of, so much, so far and given to them now..

Lifeless Diwali..!!

Diwali which is also known as the "Festival of Lights"..which is supposed to spread the light of joy, happiness and wisdom...I just wonder..is it still does it all.....?

I remember when I was a kid, people around used to be so enthusiastic about it..even a month before..there was a spirit of festivity, a feel of overwhelming thrill and excitement which could be seen in any individual, may it be old or young. rich or poor..but now it has vanished..

Diwali has now become a sort of ritual to be performed, a song to be sung..like the national pledge which we used to take every morning in school without understanding the essence out of it..when we were kids..Oh God..!!

India is called the land of festivals, but do we really have the same fervor in us..alive?? ..which has made us get this title..I don't think so.. Where on one hand, inflation has hit every person in the country very hard..the increasing spirit of jealousy portrayed as competition in the people has killed the spirit of peace, harmony and brotherhood..Emotions have become artificial..humanity has died long back, every individual seems to be running in a race which has no finish line..and the feeling of satisfaction is breathing its last..
